I wonder how many people have written journals titled 'New Camera'... Anyway, no matter! I have a new camera. Canon 10D, and very pleased with it I am :o. I don't have my own lens yet but when I get one you can expect the sharpness of my pictures to go up considerably :). Only gripes: The worry that I may never justify spending this amount of money on photography... And for the moment, and especially while it has no case, I am too scared to take it outside! Other than that I can't wait to get a new lens and give it some proper use :D

Yesterday I went into my local SnappySnaps for the first time. Bought some film, couple of iso200s and one iso400 24 shot film. I went into the London Underground (more commonly known as 'the tube') and I took a bunch of photos. It was unnerving work, I thought that people would look at me oddly but they didn't, so I settled for thinking that people would look at me and think 'haha, a wannabe photographer', but whatever! I'm really surprised how they turned out. :).

When I initially signed up to DeviantArt I did so only to comment on other people's work. Surprised was I to get a fully functional gallery and even subdomain! This really is a great site. Anyway, I want to go to uni to do art in September, if my situation allows, and I need to build up a portfolio to show them what sorta stuff I aspire to and whatnot so it seemed a great idea to start taking photos. I borrowed my mother's camera, its a Cannon EOS 300 with a fairly limited Sigma lens but I think it will do the job and I must say I enjoy using it and taking photos very much, which I consider important.
